WASHINGTON.- It is reported that Appleannounced one of the most important changes in its recent history: Tim Cook will leave his position as chief executive officer (CEO).
The above to assume the role of executive chairman of the board, while John Ternus will take the leadership of the company starting September 1, 2026.
Transition was approved unanimously
It was through a statement published on Apple’s official site, the transition, approved unanimously by the board of directors, is part of a succession plan prepared for years.
Tim Cook will continue as CEO of the company during the summer, this in order to ensure an orderly and work closely with Ternus in this new stage.
It should be noted that, since last year, rumors of Tim Cook’s departure as CEO of the company have surfaced.

As well as the possible choice of one of the main representatives of the company to replace it.
For his part, in his new position as executive president, Cook will continue to be linked to the company, participating in strategic decisions and in dialogue with regulators and governments at a global level.
“It has been the greatest privilege of my life to lead Apple,” said the manager after the announcement.
New CEO was senior vice president
Likewise, Ternus, who until now served as senior vice president of hardware engineering, takes on the challenge of leading a de the most influential technology companies in the world.
His appointment reinforces Apple’s commitment to leaders trained within the organization itself and with deep knowledge of its products.
This movement also marks the closing of a stage that began in 2011when Tim Cook took the reins after the departure of Steve Jobs.
