The Winners 2019

2019 Visioning the Outdoors Film & Photo Competition

Posted on 19.07.2019

We are very pleased to announce the winners of the 2019 Visioning the Outdoors Film & Photo Competition.

As the quality of the entries in 2019 was, for the most part, quite exceptional, the judging was quite challenging. While only a few  were selected as the winners, almost all the entries were outstanding in some way and many will go on to feature from time to time on the QORF website, and in social media, to help us promote the outdoors and outdoor activity in Queensland.

Congratulations to all the winners and heartfelt thanks to all entrants!

Best Photo

Cod Hole by Christian Botella

A well-timed, well-positioned and well-lit shot that absolutely conveys the excitement and wonder of the outdoors! Great shot Christian, as are all your other entries this year!
Chris Bray, Photo Judge

Best Film

New Zealand 9 by Anthony Gordon

All the films presented this year had strengths, whether it be the quality of the filming, the editing, the soundtrack or the locations shown. The selected winner, NZ9, demonstrated all of these qualities. This was all achieved despite what was quite obviously a very difficult filming environment – long, drawn out sections of Great Walks in New Zealand, rain and snow, and fatigue. I am thoroughly impressed at what the crew achieved, both on foot and in terms of the movie they have put together.
Lachlan Ryan, Film Judge

Best Youth Photo

Beach Time by Lydia Ellingsen

I like how the leading line formed by the coast guides the viewers eye into this colourful coastal landscape.
Chris Bray, Photo Judge
