Meta, like Microsoft, has revolutionized the field of artificial intelligence, introducing TikTok-like platforms with AI-created videos and strengthening its virtual assistant on WhatsApp, excluding competing alternatives.
One of its most recent innovations is to allow users to transform photos and posts into animated videos on Facebook, using, of course, Meta’s AI technology. The purpose is to “revitalize” these still images.
Another novelty is that now users will be able to give life to their profile photos, turning them into short animations lasting a few seconds with different predefined styles.
Meta will add animation to your profile photo
Recently, AI applications that transform images into videos They have become extremely popular. These animations have set a trend on social networks like Instagram.
Meta has taken note of this trend and implemented this functionality directly on Facebook. Users will be able to animate their main profile photo in just a few seconds, selecting from a variety of already configured animations.
Animation options include moves like making hearts with your hands, wearing party hats, wearing headphones, and more. Furthermore, Meta promises introduce more animation options during this year.
To obtain optimal results, Zuckerberg’s company suggests that the photos selected for animation should show people from the front, with their faces clearly visible and without them holding other objects.
Users will have the option to select photos already uploaded to Facebook or animate images directly from their gallery. Once animated, these can be shared on the feed principal.
A function called “Restyle” will also be offered, which will allow you to redesign or transform Stories and Memories on Facebook using AI messages and predefined styles available in the application.
For example, if a user uploads a photo to Stories or is reviewing their Memories to share them, they can use Restyle and choose between several already established styles, such as 3D, animation, anime, among others.
The animation system will not be limited to just profile photos. Gradually, Meta will also introduce a way to add animated backgrounds to text posts from the Feed.
When creating a new text post, users will see an A-shaped icon to add animation. Seasonal backgrounds and other preset animated backgrounds will be added soon.
These are just some of the AI capabilities that Meta has been promoting over the years. Its Meta AI assistant on WhatsApp is a clear example, despite the controversies it has generated.
