MBRC Outdoor Recreation Plan

Moreton Bay Regional Council plan for 2019-2031

Posted on 06.02.2020

Outdoor recreation comprises activities that take place in, or involve elements of, the urban and rural natural areas without, or with minimal, site modification and/or infrastructure. It includes activities such as bush walking, mountain biking, horse riding, water activities and more. It does not address intensive motorised recreation.

Council’s Outdoor recreation plan outlines a long-term vision and provides recommendations for the planning and development of outdoor recreation opportunities across Moreton Bay Region over the next 20 years.

It identifies the region’s current outdoor recreation offering, opportunities to enhance existing facilities as well as opportunities to strengthen partnerships with land owners, land managers and community groups that will help to support outdoor recreation into the future.
