For the lives of young Aussies with high care needs, every day is a constant battle and on this challenging adventure, you will put yourself in their shoes and push yourself like never before by trekking the Great Wall of China.

Winding its way across the north of China, from the Yellow Sea to the Gobi Desert, the Great Wall of China is one of mankind’s most impressive accomplishments. As part of this adventure, you’ll travel through history to the very heart of China’s ancient culture, though it’s no easy feat.

Over five days, you’ll be taken out of your comfort zone – just like young Aussies living in aged care – trekking up to five hours a day. Across narrow ridges and climbing up steep steps, every day on the Wall is a mental and physical battle – this is no holiday. With the support of our expert guides, you’ll explore the many facets of the Great Wall and push yourself to the limits.

With your challenge complete, you’ll swap the majesty of the Great Wall for the hustle and bustle of a great city, and explore the contrasting personality of Beijing. Immerse yourself in the ancient history of the Forbidden City and experience the poignancy of Tiananmen Square.

On the Great Wall of China trek you will be taken out of your comfort zone – just like young people with high care needs. The ridges are narrow, the steps are extremely steep, but it will all be worth it to create real change for young Australians in need!
