MTBA pleased to welcome Moreton Bay Regional Council as a 2017 CX National Series stakeholder

Mountain Bike Australia Ltd (MTBA) are pleased to welcome (QORF Green Circle Member) Moreton Bay Regional Council on board as stakeholders for Rounds 2 & 3 of the 2017 CX National Series to be held in Samford on 15-16 July 2017.

MTBA CEO Shane Coppin was quick to praise the support from council, which helped to bring a national series round to the region for the second consecutive year.

“Races do not just happen without the support of a host of stakeholders from event volunteers through to organisers and supporters,” Coppin said.

After successfully hosting two rounds last season, D’Aguilar Range Cycling Club (DRCC) will once again provide a tough venue for competitors, which are expected to number over 250.

“DRCC are pleased to welcome riders back to Moreton Bay Region in 2017 for the NCXS.”

“Planning is well underway at our home venue, Samford, to enable a longer and more feature laden course to challenge riders and entertain spectators,” said Club President Hayden Lester.

Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Spokesperson for Parks, Recreation and Sport and Division 11 Councillor Darren Grimwade, said he was excited to see the CX National Series race it’s way into Moreton Bay for the second consecutive year.

“The D’Aguilar Range Cycling Club will offer an exciting and challenging course, paired with the unbeatable views of the Samford Valley,” Cr Grimwade said.

“We pride ourselves on our active, outdoor lifestyle in Moreton Bay and I have no doubt our community will join council in welcoming this event into town.”

The Samford round is part of a six race national series, which culminates at Essendon, Victoria in August.
