Pinnacle Sports Adult Rock Climbing Course may be just what you are after!

This course entails 6 climbing sessions over 4 weeks at a variety of locations in and around Brisbane. The Adults Rock Climbing Course has been specifically designed to give participants a grounding in basic climbing techniques while providing a safe and fun environment in which to learn.

Note this course does not teach you how to set up your own ropes to climb or abseil independently. Your guide sets up all your climbing and abseiling anchors. If you are wishing learn how to set up yourself, please see the 2 day Top Rope Climbing Course

Pinnacle Sports’ guides are professional and highly qualified in their field. They all possess accredited qualifcations. We provide a very positive and encouraging social atmosphere and most of all, make the sessions fun.

Session Guide *

Week 1:
Tuesday or Wednesday (6-9pm): Safety and belay induction followed by climbing at Kangaroo Point Cliffs

Week 2:
Tuesday or Wednesday (6-9pm): Climbing and introduction to climbing technique at Kangaroo Point cliffs
Friday (6-9pm): Climbing technique session at Brisbanes’ premier indoor rock-climbing centre, Urban Climb

Week 3:
Tuesday or Wednesday (6-9pm): Climbing and introduction to climbing technique at Kangaroo Point cliffs
Saturday (8am-12pm): Climbing session at Mt Ngungun in the Glasshouse Mountains

Week 4:
Tuesday or Wednesday (6-9pm): Climbing or Abseiling and BBQ break-up at Kangaroo Point cliffs

The Venues

  • Kangaroo Point Cliffs is a Brisbane landmark. The cliffs are around 20 metres high and have a range of climbs, to suit all levels of ability. From those new to climbing, to those looking for their next big tick.
  • Urban Climb is an indoor climbing centre located in the heart of West End. This state-of-the-art facility has over 50 ropes and an impressive boudering area.
  • Mt.Ngungun is located in the Glasshouse Mountains about 60 minutes drive north of Brisbane.  The cliffs are around 18m high and have a range of climbs to challenge all comers. This is real Queensland rock climbing and not to be missed!

Included in the cost is the use of all specialised gear: harness, helmet, climbing shoes, and all other safety equipment.

Guidelines

  • All participants must be at least 15 years old
  • Waivers must be completed by all participants. Where participants are under 18 years of old this must be signed by a parent or legal guardian.
  • This course is subject to minimum and maximum numbers to run
  • In the event of wet weather, your session will be rescheduled for the next week (unless other arrangements are made with your guide as a group).
  • Not recommended during pregnancy
