AABAT Bush Adventure Therapy Forum
Turning over a New Leaf
The 2019 Australian Association for Bush Adventure Therapy Forum ‘turning over a new leaf’ is an opportunity to experience the transformational nature of Bush Adventure Therapy, and how it has brought about positive change in individuals, culture, practices, and research. This is our annual national forum, back in Qld for the first time since 2012.
Situated in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland in the Numinbah Valley, Queensland, this is a forum not to be missed!
A broad selection of concurrent workshops will be offered, as well as highlight presentations from special guest speakers Emeritus Professor Judy Atkinson, Dr Gregory P. Smith, Andy Hamilton and Wild Mob Youth Ambassadors. There is also an optional pre-forum overnight expedition into the surrounding hinterland as well as numerous pre-forum workshops such as a one-day workshop, Bush Adventure Therapy 101, Equine Therapy, and a Bush Adventure Therapy Research Symposium in conjunction with Griffith University.
It’s not only the brilliant speakers and workshops you have to look forward to at the AABAT Forum 2019. With nightly bonfires, bar, music, optional morning program, social activities, and plenty of chill out areas on the property it means there’s something for everyone at this year’s forum!
Australian Association for Bush Adventure Therapy forums are inclusive, collaborative, and experiential, like the work that bush adventure therapy practitioners deliver. Those new to the field or those who are interested in learning more about this exciting practice are encouraged to attend and make new connections with this open and welcoming group.
Get involved, share your stories, and experience the transformational nature of bush adventure therapy!
