Don’t miss your chance to become a volunteer at the mountain bike event as part of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games with Expressions of Interest now available.

Please read the following information carefully as it may influence your application.

DATES:

The Commonwealth Games will commence on April 4th, 2018 and conclude on April 15th.  The mountain bike competition runs for one day on April 12th , and the course familiarisation and athlete training days are from April 6th to April 11th . In addition to the day of competition there will be volunteering opportunities for training sessions held at the Nerang Mountain Bike Trails, starting from March 27th .

At Games time, you will need to be available for shifts as required across all dates of the event. Specific shifts are not able to be chosen, so please ensure that your diary is free during games time.

LOCATION:

The mountain bike event and training sessions will be held at the Nerang Mountain Bike Trails in the Nerang State Forest, Nerang. The start and finish area will utilise the existing Nerang Velodrome and is adjacent to the Nerang Mountain Bike Trails.

COST AND BENEFITS:

All travel and accommodation costs will be at the expense of the volunteer.  However, public transport in and around the Gold Coast will be free for volunteers during Games time with your accreditation.  All volunteers will receive a uniform kit, meals if required during a rostered shift, and the experience of a lifetime.

Volunteers will be required to meet pre games requirements:

•  Attend and participate in an operational testing and readiness event prior to the Games, as identified by GOLDOC;
• Attend the Volunteer Selection Centre and/or undertake a GC2018 Volunteer induction;
• Undergo role-specific training and venue specific training for relevant competition and training venue/s prior to commencing work as a volunteer;
• Undergo and comply with a security background check;
• Wear the allocated Workforce uniform and accreditation pass at all times when on-shift
