Netflix raises its prices in Mexico this April 2026: how will the rates be?

If you are one of the millions of Mexicans who enjoy Netflix series and movies, prepare your wallet. The platform has confirmed an adjustment to its monthly rates that will come into effect in the middle of next month. This increase, which ranges between 20 and 40 pesos, seeks to balance the investment in original content and the constant technological improvements of the application.

NEW NETFLIX PRICES IN MEXICO (APRIL 2026)

According to the notifications that users have begun to receive via email, the adjustment will be applied gradually depending on the billing cycle. However, all changes will begin to be officially reflected from April 13, 2026.

COST OF “EXTRA MEMBERS”

If you share your account with someone who doesn’t live in the same household as you, there will also be an adjustment. The cost for adding an additional profile will increase 10 pesos more for each member, applying to both plans with ads and traditional modalities.

WHY IS NETFLIX PRICE INCREASE?

Although the company has not issued a statement justifying each peso of the increase, industry analysts agree that these adjustments respond to three main factors:

1. Investment in original content: The production of high-quality exclusive series and films requires increasingly higher budgets.
2. Technological improvements: Server maintenance and implementation of new user functions.
3. Fierce competition: The streaming market is increasingly aggressive, forcing platforms to cover increasing operating costs to keep their catalog updated.

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN I WILL BE CHARGED THE NEW PRICE?

Netflix has assured that it will notify each subscriber in advance before making the updated charge. You will receive a notice by:

• Email: Sent to the address linked to your account.
• In-App Notification: A pop-up message when you open the app on your television or mobile device.

This will allow users to decide whether they want to keep their current plan, switch to a cheaper plan (such as the ad-supported plan), or cancel their subscription before the cut-off date.
