Apple launches iPhone 17e and iPad Air M4


NEW YORK (EFE).— Yesterday Apple presented the iPhone 17e and iPad Air models, which incorporate its newest processors and improvements in performance, connectivity and software functions.

The company reports in a statement that both models will be available starting next Wednesday the 11th, although reservations will begin tomorrow, in Apple stores and authorized distributors in multiple countries, including Mexico, the only Latin American mentioned.

The iPhone 17e is “designed to last” with “a robust yet lightweight design,” and features the A19 chip and a C1X modem, which, according to Apple, offer “greater speed and energy efficiency compared to the previous generation.”

It also incorporates a 48-megapixel Fusion camera with x2 telephoto lens, which allows you to take photos and videos in 4K, as well as advanced portrait functions. The 6.1-inch Super Retina

The device also allows the use of satellite features such as Emergency SOS and Messages, useful in areas without mobile coverage, the company adds.

“iPhone 17e combines powerful performance with user-friendly features, with a durable design and features that help you work and create more quickly,” said Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of iPhone Marketing, in the statement.

For its part, the iPad Air incorporates the M4 chip, with an 8-core CPU, a 9-core GPU and a faster Neural Engine, along with 12 GB of unified memory and support for WiFi 7 and 5G.

Apple assures that these improvements allow “superior performance for editing tasks, video games and artificial intelligence applications.”

iPad Air is available in 11- and 13-inch sizes, with support for the Apple Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard, and with iPadOS 26, which offers “an improved windowing system, optimized file management, and advanced productivity features.”

“iPad Air offers users more ways than ever to boost their creativity and productivity, with superior performance and the versatility they need for their daily tasks,” says Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Product Marketing, in another press release.

In the US market, prices for the iPhone 17e start at $599 (about 14,999 pesos) with 256 GB of capacity, while the iPad Air starts at $599 for the 11-inch model and $799 (19,999 pesos) for the 13-inch model.
