The Venezuelan official, who has been active in traditional opposition parties such as Democratic Action (AD), was recently appointed to the position by the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez.

Blanco said he advocates a “firm” foreign policy in what he considers a new stage of international relations for his country.

This Monday, Blanco reported on a meeting with the Chargé d’Affaires of the European Union (EU) in Venezuela, María Antonia Calvo, and another with the directors for the Americas of the United Kingdom, Harriet Thompson and Catherine O’Neill, and the British ambassador in Caracas, Colin Dick, both meetings focused on deepening cooperation.
