The Venezuelan opponent, Juan Pablo Guanipaannounced this Monday that it received a court notice with jurisdiction in terrorism in which the dismissal of the case against him after a request from the Public Ministry.
In a message on “by extinction of the criminal action”.
Guanipa recalled that he had been accused of the crimes of terrorism, association and obstruction of justice, conspiracy with a foreign government and treason after being arrested in May 2025 for allegedly being linked to a plan to boycott the regional and legislative elections that month.

“As last week I was able to successfully name Joel García as my defense attorney, we accessed the file and everything evidenced a vulgar political persecution. They did not even bother to invent facts. It is not described what I did, when, how, where or with whom.“he noted.
“Without facts there is no crime. Without crime there is no legitimate process. This is persecution, not justice. The amnesty does not forgive, it forgets facts. And what happens when there were no facts? That what is ‘forgotten’ is the persecution. The vast majority of those granted amnesty never committed any crime. “The amnesty does not clear up guilt, it exposes abuses,” he insisted.
The Venezuelan opponent explained in his publication how “outrageous” he found it “that I and thousands of people and our families and the entire Venezuelan nation have been subjected to this ominous oppression just for thinking differentlyseek democracy and fight for freedom.

To which he explained that they had done this because “suffer from the pathology of powerthat disproportionate and excessive ambition that leads some to commit any atrocity to achieve or remain in power.
However, he ended his statement with some optimism, assuring that “Venezuela is moving towards the solution of this already long crisis through a process that will culminate in elections“.
“May all this serve as a lesson for us so that this horror story in which an illegitimate State persecutes the nation it should serve will never happen again,” he concluded.
The Amnesty Law
Last Wednesday, Guanipa assured that the trial against him was continuing, despite the fact that in February he received the measure of full freedom, hours after the approval of the Amnesty Law.
The former deputy then indicated, in a press conference, that he received the February 19 a written notification with your full freedomafter receiving a visit from a commissioner who told him that the measure was taken thanks to “the Amnesty Law promulgated by Mrs. Delcy Rodríguez”, in reference to the Venezuelan president.
However, he noted that later the president of Parliament, Jorge Rodriguezsaid that his freedom was not a consequence of the norm, but that it was due to a Government “concession”.
Guanipa was in house arrest since last February 10after having been released from prison for a few hours and arrested again after leading a caravan in favor of political prisoners.
Last February, the Venezuelan Parliament approved the Amnesty Law which, in theory, covers a period established between 1999 and 2026, but specifies 13 political situations since 2002, which excludes arrests that occurred in at least 15 of the last 27 years, as well as cases related to military operations.
