Since then, Washington has been increasing its rhetoric against the island, even now that it is immersed in a costly war in Iran that drags on with no clear end on the horizon.

Just a few hours earlier, the Cuban Executive had announced the release of 51 prisoners after maintaining contacts with the Vatican, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in which no mention of the United States was included.
