Israel attacks again the Palestinian director of the documentary ‘No Other Land’, which won an Oscar, and detains and injures his family

One of the co-directors of Oscar-winning Palestinian-Israeli documentary No Other Land, with Hamdam Ball, suffered this Sunday a joint aggression by settlers and Israeli soldiers in his home in Susiya, in the southern West Bank, as he himself reported in a statement posted on social networks.

Ballal assures that a well-known settler leader in the area, Shem Tov Lusky, entered the compound of his home with his cattle this Sunday.

“Two weeks ago we managed to get a ruling from the Israeli court that the area around my house was closed to non-residents, but the settlers break that order and still come with their flocks almost every day,” he laments.

After the settler’s incursion, Ballal’s brother called the police and the Israeli Army arrived at the scene.

However, the soldiers entered the family home and attacked those present, also arresting two brothers, a nephew and a cousin of Ballal. “Another brother was seriously injured and he’s in the hospital.”

On March 24 last year, settlers led by Shem Tov Lusky beat Ballal while he was in an ambulance receiving treatment for his injuries. Israeli soldiers detained him and took him into custody.

‘No Other Land’
