The president of the United States, Donald Trumphas charged again this Wednesday against the Government of Pedro Sánchez: “He is not cooperating at all.”
“They are not cooperating at all. They are doing it really badly. I may cut off all trade with them.. They have been very bad to NATO and do not want to pay their fair share. The people of Spain are fantastic, but their leadership is terrible,” the Republican said in response to questions from the press at the White House.
The magnate once again threatens Spain with an embargo, just a week after Moncloa had to deny the White House after ensuring that Spain had agreed to collaborate.

Since the beginning of the US and Israeli offensive against Iran, the Republican has shown his anger because Not only has Spain not supported the attacks and has refused to provide bases in Spanish territory for its military operations.
On March 3, Trump already threatened Spain with a trade embargo after the Government announced that will not allow Washington to use military bases that it has in its territory for the offensive against Iran.
An “unrealizable” threat, as the European Commission (EC) already reminded him, which closed ranks with Spain and defended that it is willing to act to safeguard the interests of the EU.
“We are not going to be complicit in something that is bad for the world and that it also goes against our values and interests, just out of fear of reprisals from someone,” Sánchez responded the next day in an institutional statement from the Moncloa Palace.
However, that same afternoon, the spokesperson for the United States Government, Caroline Leavitt, At a press conference at the White House he unexpectedly announced that Spain had agreed to collaborate militarily with the United States.
The denial of the Sánchez Executive was immediate. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jose Manuel Albareswas disconcerted by Leavitt’s statements on the program ‘Hora 25’ on the Chain Being. “I don’t have the slightest idea what he could be referring to,” said Albares, who flatly rejected his version: “I can refute the White House spokesperson.”
Albares reaffirmed, in this sense, that “the position of the Government of Spain regarding the war in the Middle East, the bombings on Iran and the use of our bases has not changed one bit.”
