Game Plan

New organisational development resource from Sport Australia

Posted on 14.12.2020

A new Sport Australia resource launched recently is helping local sporting (and recreation) clubs and organisations across Australia not just survive the COVID-19 pandemic but return even bigger and better.

Sport Australia’s Game Plan is an easy to use tool for clubs to assess their strategic and operational strengths and weaknesses and access resources and information to build their ongoing capability and support improved and sustainable performance.  It replaces Sport Australia’s previous capability building tool, the Club Health Check.

Game Plan is designed to:

  • Assess a club’s capability and performance at a time relevant to them
  • Identify areas for improvement
  • Provide access to relevant resources to support club development
  • Inform the direction and priority of activity and investment to build capability

In just six steps, organisations are equipped with the tools and resources to improve the quality of skills of its people, the volunteers and management, adapt quickly and maximise existing club resources.

Sport Australia’s Game Plan has been designed for a staged release with Stage 1, launched 7 December 2020 aimed at clubs and associations. Stages 2 and 3 for National and State Sporting Organisations scheduled for release in 2021.
