Australian Rhiannan Iffland goes from unknown wildcard to Red Bull cliff diving champion

Posted on 03.11.2016

An unknown on the world stage at the start of the season, Australian Rhiannan Iffland has stormed to the Red Bull Cliff Diving title with five wins from seven events.

The 25-year-old from Nords Wharf in New South Wales could have coasted in the final event of the calendar in Dubai, but put in another brilliant set of dives to take first place yet again, ahead of fellow Aussie Helena Merten.

“It hasn’t really sunk in yet, so I guess after tomorrow the competition is finished then it’ll really hit me,” said Iffland, who also managed to make the podium in every single event.

“I felt a little less stress on my shoulders and pulled the dives off and I am really happy.”
