Do Something Near You is an initiative of the Do Something charity. Do Something was established by Planet Ark founders Jon Dee and Pat Cash in association with Tina Jackson, former Executive Director of the National Trust of Australia. Do Something Near You is the charity’s flagship initiative.

Do Something Near You makes it a lot easier for Australians to get involved in community volunteering and charity events. All you have to do is type in your postcode or suburb to find an opportunity near you. After you do this, you’ll get listings with information about how you can help or get involved in your local community.

The website covers the whole of Australia. Our community group listings are localised to 16,000 different suburbs and 565 local councils, so no matter where you live in Australia, we’ll be able to help you. Since it was launched, hundreds of thousands of Australians have used the website to find how they can get involved. Why not get started and see how you can do something in your local area?
